GED Preparation

A 35 year old mother dropped out of school before the 10th grade.  She is employed in a low-wage job and wants to improve her skills.  She enrolled in our evening GED class.  We used approved GED materials and direct teacher-led classroom instruction to teach and help her pass the exam.

The GED Preparation Program is offered to students who did not complete high school and score at a 9th grade level or above on both the vocabulary and reading comprehension sections of the diagnostic test.   Our GED instructors work with these students to master the skills and prepare for the exam.

Literacy Action prepares the students to pass all five sections of the GED test within six months of enrollment at Literacy Action.  Once they pass all five parts they receive their General Educational Development Diploma.
