Volunteers allow our students to receive additional assistance and help further their education. There are many ways you can volunteer and become involved with our organization and students. Below are our requirements and the different volunteering opportunities.


CLASSROOM ASSISTANT

Individual Volunteering

OPPORTUNITY REQUIREMENTS PROCESS

Assist teachers in reading, writing, math, work skills, GED, or computer classes in various ways as needed, including working individually or with small groups of students who need extra help in class, helping to monitor classroom activities, grading papers, etc.

  • Must be 21 years or older with a high school diploma (or GED) or be 18 or older and currently enrolled in a college program.

  • Commit 2 - 4 hours a week to volunteering.

  • Possess computer skills which enable you to navigate the Internet, e-mail, and basic Microsoft applications.

  • Interview with the Volunteer Coordinator.

  • Observe at least one class for 2 hours.


COMPUTER LAB TUTOR

Individual Volunteering

OPPORTUNITY REQUIREMENTS PROCESS

Assist students and teachers in the computer lab. This includes basic operation of the personal computer as well as internet and software usage.

  • Must be 21 years or older with a high school diploma (or GED) or be 18 or older and currently enrolled in a college program.

  • Commit 2 - 4 hours a week to volunteering.

  • Possess computer skills which enable you to navigate the Internet, e-mail, basic Microsoft applications and the ability to troubleshoot.

  • Interview with the Volunteer Coordinator.

  • Observe at least one class during your preferred monitoring time for 1 - 2 hours.
