Classes Overview

Literacy Action offers a variety of classes that can help you reach your personal goal!

Classes meet at the dates and times listed below.

Monday/Wednesday
9:00-11:00AM, 11:30AM-1:30PM and 2:00-4:00PM
 
Tuesday/Thursday
9:00-11:00AM, 11:30AM-1:30PM and 2:00-4:00PM
 
Saturday
9:00-11:00AM, 11:30AM-1:30PM
 
Each class offered during the week meets twice a week for four hours (two hours each day).Saturday classes meet once a week for two hours.
 
There are three sections of classes: Basic Skills, GED Preparation & Elective

 

CLASSES OFFERED

BASIC SKILLS

Basic skills classes are offered continuously at Literacy Action. Classes in Reading, Writing, Math and Computer begin at the lowest level to help students gain the tools they need to advance to the next level. 

GED PREPARATION

Literacy Action prepares the students to pass all five sections of the GED test. The GED Preparation Program is offered to students who did not complete high school and score at a 9th grade level or above on both the vocabulary and reading comprehension sections of the diagnostic test.

ELECTIVES

Elective courses are offered periodically for student enrichment.
