
In this class, students are introduced to the skills needed for the Reading, Writing, Science, and Social Studies sections of the GED Test. Students also will learn word-reading strategies and new vocabulary words that will help their reading comprehension. They learn to take written notes and to write summaries, persuasive letters, and academic essays. They also learn to read and understand maps, charts, graphs, and tables. In addition, students will practice using a calendar, using to-do lists, and communicating by email. Students take Official Practice Tests for the GED® Test at the beginning, middle, and end of the course.

The main focus of this class is test-taking skills needed for the Reading, Writing, Science, and Social Studies sections of the GED Test. Each student receives an individualized plan to use in preparing for the GED tests, and they take Official Practice Tests in order to monitor their progress. Students also will learn word-reading strategies and new vocabulary words that will help their reading comprehension. Students will learn to write a persuasive letter and academic essays, as well as learn how to read and understand various types of tables, graphs, charts, and maps. In addition, students will practice using a calendar, using to-do lists, and communicating by email.
The main focus of this class is test-taking skills needed for the Math sections of the GED Test. This class reviews all the skills covered in Math 1, Math 2, and Math 3. Students also learn the Algebra and Geometry skills need to pass the GED Test.
